Robotics: The secret behind the laws robots use to operate

Isaac Asimov who has contributed immensely to technology including robotics and artificial intelligence brought about the robotic series. The robotic series included 37 science fiction stories and six novels all composed by the American writer Isaac Asimov.

The robotic series started in the September of 1940.

He then developed three laws of robotics.


The laws are as follows.

1. "a robot may not in a human being or, through inaction, allow the human being to come to harm". This is known as the first law of Isaac Asimov.

2. The second law says "A robot must obey the orders given by its instructor unless it conflicts with the first law".

3. The third law says "a robot must continue to protect its life unless it conflicts with the first or second law".

Later, he added another rule which is also known as the fourth law stating that "Under no circumstances should a robot cause harm humanity but rather not should allow humanity to come to harm".
